Ship AIDA DIVA up for the first time to port of Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo, November 13, 2015.– Port of Santo Domingo received for the first time the visit of the German ship “AIDA DIVA”, which docked at terminal SANSOUCI last friday at 8.00 am.
With more than 1,700 cruise passengers onboard (mostly German), the AIDA DIVA cruise began its journey in the island of Jamaica and after its stopover in the Dominican Republic, heads to Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire, St. Vincent, among other Caribbean islands, according to the company, Sans Souci Ports.
This 68,500 ton ship, also slated to return to Dominican waters on November 28, is 251.76 meters long, and draws 7.20 meters, was commissioned, 2007.

As part of the traditional welcome to ships visiting the Port of Santo Domingo for the first time, an exchange of plaques took place in the terminal. Sharon Mei, commercial Director of SANSOUCI, thanked the shipping line for choosing the port as destination and as a place of ship maintenance and as a storage facility for the AIDADIVA. Morover, she informed on the variety of tours that received cruise passengers during the hours that the ship remained docked at Terminal.

The offer is varied and includes excursions to the most important cultural monuments of the colonial city, eco-tourism visits, culinary offerings, safari, diving, rum tour, Taino route, and Chocolate tour.
