Plantours Kreuzfahrten’s Hamburg makes first visit to Santo Domingo
Plantours Kreuzfahrten’s Hamburg made its maiden visit to the Port of Santo Domingo, bringing 340 mostly German passengers as part of a cruise that’s visiting the Bahamas, Puerto Plata, Santiago de Cuba, Montego Bay, Cienfuegos, Pinos Island and Havana.
A plaque exchange was held at the Sansoucí terminal between Jaime Castillo, executive director of Sans Soucí Ports, and Capt. Philipp Dieckmann. Castillo expressed appreciation for the call and the 15,000gt ship’s use of Santo Domingo for provisioning.
Sans Soucí Ports welcomed the passengers with tastings of local specialties, folk dances, artisans and crafts in the terminal. Many of the passengers took excursions, and the ship stayed in port until 11 p.m.
Agencia Naviera B&R handled Hamburg’s call.
